Why does a single product swell during the operation of storage battery

The electrolyte of colloidal batteries is coagulated between the positive and negative plates and separators of the batteries in a colloidal form, which makes the electrolyte inactive. It has the advantages of high reliability, high charging efficiency and long service life under high temperature environment. It also has obvious advantages in energy saving and pollution reduction.
In the protection practice, it was found that after about half a year of application of colloidal batteries, the bulging condition of single colloidal batteries shell was very severe: the side wall and shell cover of batteries were bulging in varying degrees; the leakage of liquid at the safety valve was very obvious, and the acid traces on the cover surface of batteries were basically sprayed around the safety valve; the battery silo was corroded by the leakage of liquid from batteries; and the safety valve ports were corroded. Crackle.
From the protection record and the situation analysis of the scene, the main reasons for this phenomenon are as follows:
1. The relief valve does not exhaust smoothly. The safety valve has the function of adjusting the internal pressure of the battery. Under normal conditions, it should be able to release the internal gas in time. In the initial stage of operation, the gas release during charging is large because the electrolyte inside the colloidal battery is relatively solid. If the exhaust of the safety valve is not smooth due to the problem, when the amount of gas released from the battery during charging reaches a certain extent, it will cause the shell bulging and even the safety valve opening cracking due to "inflation".
Secondly, the parameter planning of storage battery management program chip in switching power supply system is not consistent with the operation characteristics of colloidal batteries. By comparing the parameters of the switching power supply in the bulging battery station with those in the non-bulging battery station, it is found that the manufacturers of the switching power supply in the bulging battery station have planned the function of charging the batteries equally (that is, charging the batteries with a small current after the completion of charging). When the average charge current of the battery drops to 10 mA/Ah, it can not be converted to the floating charge procedure, but it needs to be recharged (the recharge current may rebound in the recharge stage at high temperature, and the recharge time is usually 4-10 hours). In addition, the outdoor base station has poor power supply conditions and frequent power outages, which inevitably constitutes that the switching power supply overcharges the battery every time, accelerates the corrosion rate of the battery electrode and the loss of water of the battery. The extremely high temperature in the battery causes the bulging of the battery shell.
3. Colloidal battery bunker temperature sensor line is not connected, resulting in the system can not achieve the conversion from uniform charging to floating charging when the temperature reaches 40 C. In high temperature environment, the failure of temperature compensation function actually increases the total floating charge voltage of battery pack, which directly causes the late charging current of battery not to decrease, but to increase the charging current by multiple, and continues to affect the gas evolution and heat inside the battery, and then intensifies the electrolysis of colloidal electrolyte water, resulting in battery bulging.
4. Battery ventilation condition is poor. Battery cabinet planning due to full consideration of anti-theft safety, resulting in poor ventilation and natural heat dissipation capacity of the battery pack, the temperature of the battery pack in the charging process can not be timely dispersed, which also has a certain impact on the battery shell bulging
